What We Do
The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts is a thriving cultural arts center which caters to aspiring performers of all ages. We offer the performer the environment in which to cultivate their craft and talent and also the opportunity for live performance. Along with private lessons in Voice, Acting, Piano, Audition Preparation, Music Appreciation, Public Speaking, and Pageant Preparation, we also offer group classes in Acting, Music Theory, Comedy & Improv, Screenwriting & Producion, Musical Theatre, Tiny Tunes, Choir as well as Advanced Performance, the renowned, by-audition Acting and Film Troupe. The Burt Wood School is also the sight for one-on-one and group tutoring and test preparation through Creative Thoughts Tutoring. The school also offers master classes entitled So You Wanna Be on Broadway and The Whole Package, as well as periodic On-Camera Acting classes. In addition, for five weeks during the summer, we also run a Summer Arts Festival which culminates in a full-scale production of a musical theatre spectacular!

Our Business History
The Burt Wood School first opened it's doors on August 2nd, 1995. We are currently celebrating our tenth season in a new and larger facility. We continue to strive to offer our students a solid but exciting base from which to launch their dreams!

About Our Staff
Since opening it's doors in 1995, the school has grown from just three teachers and a handful of students to a bustling studio with over fourteen talented and professional teachers and an ever-growing roster of students.

What Makes Us Unique
The BWSPA Motto is:
"We believe in living deeply,
laughing often and loving always.
We believe we were brought together to
support and care for each other.
We believe that everyone's feelings count,
and that the uniqueness of each of us
strengthens all of us.
We believe in the power of forgiveness to heal
and the power of love to carry us through.
We believe in one another, in this family...
in this school!
